RAHB member Ann Forbes Arndt (Homelife Macro Realty Inc.) is standing for election as RECO Director from Region 2.

Ann was President of RAHB in 2011 and just completed her term as Past President.  She has been a member of the association for 23 years and is a Broker with Homelife Macro Realty Inc.

Ann has served on many RAHB committees, including Audit, Governance, Nomination, Professional Standards, Bylaw, Finance and the Member Area Representation Committee (MARC).  She chaired both the Finance and MARC Committees.  She has also served on the Scholarship Selection, Honourary Life, Director Recognition, Ombudsman and Community Bike Ride task forces.  She was elected to the RAHB Board of Directors in 2007.

In 2005, Ann received the RAHB Volunteer of the Year award.

Ann is an avid supporter of dragon boat racing and coaches the Knot a Breast dragon boat team.  She is a member of the Coaching Association of Canada and the Ontario Coaches Association.

Ann welcomes calls from members who have questions about her experience or decision to stand for election.

 

RECO Election

All members will receive complete voting instructions from Computershare, the company engaged by RECO to handle the election process.  The email containing the information will be from @cpucommunications.com the week of April 8, 2013.

The election will take place by online voting only.  Each member will receive a unique control number which is required to complete the voting process.  Voting ends Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 4:30 p.m.

RECO unveils new continuing education program

Beginning August 1, 2013, RECO will launch a new mandatory continuing education (MCE) program.  The new program will use an online platform to deliver content focused on consumer protection, regulatory matters and current industry issues.

The new structure will include a mandatory Update Course – both residential and commercial versions, with an option to take both – which will take six to 8 hours to complete online, plus two electives, each of which should take one and a half hours to complete.  Registrants will be required to take the Update and two electives in each two-year cycle.

The cost for RECO’s mandatory education will be $44 for a two-year cycle.

There will be a transition phase between August 1, 2013 and July 31, 2015 when registrants will be able to begin the new program online or take a combination of online courses and association-provided courses.

Please note:  after August 1, 2013, the RECO Update course will be available only online.  RAHB will be offering the Update until that time on:

  • Wednesday, April 24
  • Thursday, May 30
  • Wednesday, June 26
