Canada’s anti-spam legislation will take effect July 1, 2014.CREA worked with the government to ensure that REALTORS® would be able to use critical electronic marketing practices in the course of their businesses. There are nine significant changes to the legislation that will make it easier for REALTORS® to maintain and build client relationships (details at https://www.votervoice.net/RAN/1/campaigns).  It is likely that additional interpretations will be provided by the government before the legislation takes effect.

CREA continues to follow the issue closely in order to deliver resource materials well in advance of when members need to comply.  CREA has comprehensive compliance resource materials in easy-to-understand language available at http://www.realtorlink.ca/portal/server.pt/document/3897770/
