Annual General Membership Meeting – Tuesday, March 29, 2011
This sounds like an excellent course, and, the instructor, Mark Leisleder, is someone whose articles I always make a point to read in the Toronto Star.
It is shameful that the board is limiting attendance for this lecture to attendees of the general meeting only, for such a timely and important topic.
RAHB offers these free courses as an extra incentive for people to come out to the AGM. What is shameful is that they feel they need to.
Barring conflicts that can’t be avoided, members should WANT to go and participate in the governance of their association without needing these little perks. It’s not like they’re asking for some ongoing commitment like serving on the Board of Directors or even on a committee..
