Staff Profiles – Meet Valerie

Please note:
Staff photos do not appear on RAHB blog just in the PDF version of REALinfo.

Valerie Webster

Valerie is RAHB’s Communications Coordinator and is responsible for editing (and writing much of) REALINFO, producing RAHB press and stats releases, writing speeches for membership meetings and for other written materials for the association.  She sets up the annual President’s press conference and arranges interviews with the president.  Valerie also works with the Communications Committee and Awards Task Force, and coordinates RAHB’s advertising.

This is Valerie’s second round at RAHB; she was employed as member services coordinator in the late 1980s.  In between, she was busy raising her son, running her own business offering administrative and communications services to not-for-profit and other organizations, and learning the art of stained glass.

REALTORS Care

Heat didn’t stop Riders

Thirty riders – including RAHB members Jamie Edwards, Bruce King and Sherry Police – participated in the one-day REALTORS Care Foundation Motorcycle RIDE for Charity and raised over $25,000 for the Foundation.  All proceeds from the ride will go toward supporting shelter-related organizations across Ontario.

The ride took place on July 4 and participants followed a route from the OREA office in Don Mills to Niagara Falls.

Bruce King, a long-time participant in the RIDE, said, “the boards we visited were very generous in their support, both by way of their direct support of the Realtors Care Foundation and by way of their providing refreshments to tired, sore and overheated bikers.”

Small office raises big money!

Homelife Power Realty Inc. gathered together 29 friends and family members to ride a big bike in the Heart & Stroke Big Bike Ride.  The Ride took place in Grimsby on July 10.  The Homelife team was one of ten participating in the event, and raised $5,400 – just shy of half the total proceeds for the bike ride that day.

All riders on the Homelife team were riding in memory of member Shirley Kuyvenhoven’s brother Brad, who passed away this year from a stroke at age 55.  This year’s ride was the first of what will become an annual event for the Homelife Power office.

MLS® In Brief – WEBForms® will soon be Mac friendly!

To date, members using iPads and Macs with Safari, and PCs using browsers other than Internet Explorer have encountered difficulties accessing and using WEBForms®.  Members have also encountered difficulties across certain versions of Adobe Acrobat.

CREA has announced that WEBForms® 4.9 will soon be available, and members will be able to create transaction kits, edit forms, templates and clauses using most of the popular browsers without the reliance on Adobe Acrobat.

Stay tuned for more information on how WEBForms® version 4.9 will also assist REALTORS® with mobile technology and e‐signatures!

CREA is currently working on the release of WEBForms® 4.9 on a province-by-province basis; RAHB will advise all members when the new release is available.  No date has been given by CREA.
