MLXchange Ends July 8, 2013
Members are reminded that MLXchange will be disabled on Monday, July 8, 2013 and Fusion will run as the sole MLS® platform.
Members who wish to brush up on their Fusion skills have a number of opportunities to do so:
- For those who like the do-it-yourself method, RAHB has compiled instructional material to help you explore and transition to Fusion. This material can be found on REALTOR Link® (use the “Transition to Fusion” button on the RAHB home page).
- RAHB is also offering 2-credit, 3-hour hands-on courses in the computer lab at the RAHB office.
Courses keep filling up quickly, so register soon (contact Angela at angelam@rahb.ca) and watch MOD for more dates.
ATTENTION Office Administrators
When you are broker loading listings, please be sure you have changed the salesperson 1 code from your code to the listing salesperson’s code. RAHB staff have recently noticed several listings that show an office administrator as the salesperson. When this happens, the listing will not be displayed on REALTOR.ca until the salesperson information is corrected, and the listing will not appear in the “Active Listings” section of that salesperson’s inventory.

Zoocasa removed as third party destination in RAHB listing syndication
In May, Zoocasa became a licensed brokerage in the province of Ontario. This new business model introduced a new website which does not display listings in accordance with RAHB’s guidelines and as a result their third party feed has been disabled.
Zoocasa has also been removed from CREA’s DDF™ console as a third party destination. As per the terms of the DDF™ third party agreement which prohibits third parties from being involved in providing real estate services, Zoocasa is no longer eligible to participate in CREA’s DDF™ as a third party.
Point2 Dashboard – Reminder
All MLS® listings are automatically uploaded to Point2 for distribution to third party destinations – that is, to real estate advertising websites. All members have the ability to manage the destinations for their listings or to opt out of Point2 syndication if their Broker of Record allows.
Members control the syndication destinations for their active listings by choosing the destination for each of their listings via the Point2 dashboard. Each listing is, by default, set to “on” for all syndication destinations chosen by the Broker of Record as “allowed destinations”. (If the Broker of Record has not set up preferences for his/her company listings using the Point2 dashboard, all listings are by default uploaded to all Point2 destination websites.)
Salespeople, Brokers and Brokers of Record who have not yet logged into their dashboards to manage their preference settings are urged to do so. Every member with a listing when Point2 was launched would have received information about how to access their dashboard; members who have not logged in at all may have had their dashboards deactivated. Members who don’t know how to access or use their dashboards or who haven’t used their dashboards should contact Point2’s customer service to have their dashboards (re-)activated. This spring, a review of the RAHB/ NAR Property Information Forms (PIFs) was undertaken, with a view to bring them in line with the current Broker Load selections and to meet the needs of the membership.
- The following changes will be available and updated on the Broker Load program as well as on WEBforms.
- The updated 2013 (3-part printed format) RAHB Residential/ Condominium PIFs will be available for purchase in June.
- You may continue to use your printed 2011 PIFs. The changes to the Commercial, Multi-Residential, Farm and Vacant Land printed PIFs are scheduled to be migrated into the next print update in the Fall of 2013.

Blood donations urgently needed
Canadian Blood Services (CBS) is now in Blood Signal mode, signifying there is a great need for blood as we head into the summer months.
Did you know that RAHB is a Canadian Blood Services Partner for Life? You can sign up as a member of our group and have your blood donation count toward our goal of 20 units of blood donated for 2013.
It’s easy to join our group. Royal LePage Burloak Real Estate Services celebrated its year-round commitment to supporting Halton Women’s Place and the Carpenter Hospice with a total donation of $40,000.
Royal LePage Burloak raised these funds through events such as their Annual Charity Golf Tournament, Hallowe’en Chili Bowl, Moose Treat Fridays and sales representatives’ commission-based donations.
“Our Brokerage has been fundraising for Halton Women’s Place and The Carpenter Hospice for over ten years now and, with every year, I become more and more amazed at the increasing dedication and support that our sales representatives, support staff and supplier partnerships devote to this task”, said JoAnn Jusdanis, Broker.

REALTORS® RIDE for Charity
The REALTORS® RIDE for Charity is coming up on July 10 and 11. This two-day event will take avid motorcyclists on a ride from Mississauga to Sault Ste. Marie via Manitoulin Island, with stops at real estate boards and associations along the way.
All money raised through the REALTORS® RIDE for Charity supports shelter-related causes in communities throughout Ontario. Local causes have received support from the REALTORS Care Foundation: YWCA Hamilton, Mark Preece Family House, Wesley Urban Ministries, Housing and Support – Halton and RAHB’s own Home Ownership Affordability Partnership (HOAP).
