Results from the CREA Special Assembly Meeting
Three issues from the CREA Futures project were under discussion at the recent CREA Special Assembly meeting in Winnipeg:

(a)  a recommendation that CREA not pursue the proposal to make FSBO and non-MLS® data available on REALTOR.ca;

(b)  a recommendation that CREA and the Futures Implementation Team (FIT) do the work necessary to create a separate technology business services corporation; and

(c)  the creation of a Rate Your REALTOR® website.

Outcomes
(a)  It was agreed that CREA will not pursue including FSBOs on REALTOR.ca.  The FIT group looking into the matter was persuaded by legal opinions that to include non-MLS® data on REALTOR.ca would jeopardize CREA trademarks.

(b)  The recommendation for creating a separate technology company was referred back to the FIT team.  It was decided that the group needed to present a fuller, more complete proposal before a decision could be made.  The FIT group will present its proposal at the March CREA Assembly meeting.

(c)  The discussion about a Rate Your REALTOR® website happened in working groups at the meeting and did not come forward as a recommendation.  The FIT group studying the proposal will be using the information taken from the working groups to develop a recommendation for the March CREA Assembly meeting.
