Motorcycles ride for charity – and it all starts here!

It’s the 12th year of the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation Motorcyle Ride for Charity and this year’s ride kicks off at the RAHB office!

This one-day ride on Wednesday, July 5 will start from the RAHB parking lot around 9:15 a.m., and wind its way to the Sarnia Real Estate Board, with stops at the Brantford, Kitchener-Waterloo, Grey-Bruce-Owen Sound and Huron Perth real estate associations’ offices.

The ride raises funds for the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation, which in turn supports local shelter-related charities. Through the ride and other fund-raising endeavours, the REALTORS Care® Foundation returned $38,440 to the RAHB area in 2016 alone.

You can support the ride and the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation by participating in the ride or sponsoring a rider. Register for the ride or sponsor a rider online at https://realtorscareontario.ca/ride.

It’s all happening on Wednesday, July 5, 2017! Come on down to the RAHB office between 8 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. (times approximate) to check out the bikes, chat with the riders and see them off!

RAHB golf

This year, at RAHB’s 20th Annual Charity Golf Tournament, golfers will enjoy a round of golf at the exclusive Beverly Golf and Country Club and support two great women’s shelters: Interval House of Hamilton and Halton Women’s Place.

Interval House

About Interval House of Hamilton

Established in 1986, Interval House of Hamilton is a non-profit emergency shelter serving women who are fleeing relationship violence and abuse. In addition to the emergency shelter program, Interval House of Hamilton has three community-based programs that provide counselling, peer support and legal advocacy: the Women’s Centre of Hamilton, the Flamborough Women’s Resource Centre and Jared’s Place: Legal Advocacy and Resource Centre for Women.

Halton Women's Place

About Halton Women’s Place

First opening its doors in 1980, Halton Women’s Place is an emergency shelter that offers accessible crisis services and counselling to abused women and their children. The organization designs and implements strategies to inform and empower women to make decisions about their safety, rights and options, and works to promote and provide public education to end violence against women and children.

All proceeds from RAHB’s 20th Annual Charity Golf Tournament will go to Interval House of Hamilton and Halton Women’s Place.

REALTORS® give and raise over $91 million!

A message from Canadian REALTORS Care® Foundation Chair Ralph Fyfe:

I don’t need to tell you that the REALTOR® community in Canada is a generous bunch. As you know, REALTORS® across our country raise and donate tons of money and volunteer countless hours of their time for the charities close to their hearts. The Canadian REALTORS Care® Foundation is committed to sharing their stories with the hope of inspiring further good deeds.

We also think it’s important to try our best to measure the impact of REALTORS®’ generosity. To do just that, we asked REALTORS®, real estate boards, associations, franchisors and affiliated charitable foundations how much they gave and raised for charity over the past four years (2012-2015). We’re pleased to announce that the result is over $91 million, which speaks volumes about the generosity of Canadian REALTORS® and the meaningful role they play in the communities where they work and live.

Please take a moment to watch a short video we put together to celebrate the charitable achievements of Canadian REALTORS®.

Raising the Fund-Factor!

layne

Layne, “The Auctionista”, is BACK for our
28th REALTORS®4Kids Charity Auction
in support of the Children’s Fund!

RAHB’s 28th REALTORS®4Kids Charity Auction is just around the corner! To get the inside scoop behind the event, our dynamic host, Layne “The Auctionista”, shares her favourite things about working with local REALTORS®:

Q: What inspired you to become “The Auctionista”?
I am passionate about helping others succeed and achieve their dreams and potential. I knew that if I could combine my love of performing with my love of philanthropy, I would have my dream job! As “The Auctionista”, I raise millions of dollars for charities across Canada. These dollars help changes lives. This is my small part in contributing to making our world a better place.

Q: Why should someone attend the REALTORS®4Kids Charity Auction? It’s a “Party with a Heart”! When 500 people party and give back, it’s nothing short of amazing! Colleagues and friends will enjoy a fun and exciting night out that includes great food, fabulous entertainment and, of course, the excitement of competition with the live and silent auctions. What a great way to kick off your Christmas shopping!

Q: What is your favourite part about organizing an event with local REALTORS®?
The RAHB Charity Auction Task Force is made up of the most dedicated and committed group of individuals that I have had the pleasure of working with. Not only are they a super fun bunch, they are generous and work really hard to include amazing auction items and prizes. That is the recipe for a great guest experience and generous support for The Children’s Fund!
